Before we tell about ourselves, let us know a few facts about the current situation of education in many rural areas of Tamil Nadu.
ENROLLMENT:
A survey conducted by the Industry body Assocham ranks Tamil Nadu top among Indian states with about 100% Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) in primary and upper primary education.
Note that, this is not the same case with Secondary school education.
DROP OUT:
Of the many afflictions and adversaries humans have to fight, poverty is perhaps the most stubborn and hardest to eliminate.The current trend in the incidence of poverty especially in the rural areas, is the major reason for High drop-out and low completion of secondary schools.
ILLITERACY:
The high drop-out ratio and the lack of enrollment in secondary schools, the illiteracy rate remains around 30% . Women make up 64 percent of those who are illiterate. Although illiteracy is likely to be mostly confined to the rural areas, and hence have little effect on city-centers like Chennai.

At Minminipookal, our objective, is to prevent the students from dropping out of school by helping the really needy students.
Our future objective is to find drop outs and help them to complete their secondary education.
